Irish Wolfhounds - Appearance

The Irish Wolfhound is muscular, strong and active. The dog carries its head high. The long muzzle is moderately pointed. The ears are rather small. The chest of the Irish Wolfhound is deep, and the back is rather long. The long tail is slightly curved and well covered with hair. The legs are strong and straight. The feet are large and round in shape.

The dog's hair is rough on its body, legs and head. Area over the eyes, as well as underjaw, is covered with wiry and long hair. Wiry, and bushy eyebrows are typical of the breed. The acceptable coat colors are gray, black, red, brindle, fawn, and pure white.
